What does FS mean for grades?

What does FS mean for grades?

The grade of ‘FS’ is a failing grade similar to an ‘F’. It is a final grade awarded to students who did not officially withdraw from the course but who failed to participate in course activities through the end of the course.

How does an F affect GPA?

Failing a class can tank your grade point average (GPA). Therefore, five courses in which you had a B, B, C, A and F would add up to a 2.4 GPA if all the courses were for the same amount of credits. You add each semester’s grades to the next to get a final GPA.

Does retaking a class replace an F?

In many schools, if a student retakes a course, the most recent grade will replace the lower grade in the student’s GPA. Obviously, your student will need to retake a course in which they have received an F if that course is a required course or a required prerequisite for another course which they need.

What happens if you get all Fs?

If you earned all “F” grades, you will be asked to have your professor(s) document that you attended class and earned the “F”. If you received all “F” grades because you did not attend class, your financial aid will be revised based on the mid-point of the term and you may have to repay aid you received.
