The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the date sheet for class 12th and 10th for the board exams for the year 2017.  The good news for students is that due to the upcoming assembly polls in five states the exams won’t start from the first week of March as it has been the case in the previous years. This has given just a few extra days to all the students who are preparing for their respective board exams. As we know even a single minute is priceless during the month of exams so this delay in exams is welcomed by all the students.

Class 10th board examination will start from March 9 and will continue till April 10.

Class 12th board examination will start from March 9 and will continue till April 29.

About 16,67,573 candidates from Central Board of Secondary Education are expected to appear for class 10 exams, while 10,98,420 candidates have registered for the class 12 exams.

This will be the last year school-based exam for the class 10 students. From the year 2018 the CBSE has decided to do away with the dual system as there will be only one public exam for class 10 students from 2018.

The sources reveal that the paper had been set in a way that it will now consist 80 per cent ‘easy’ and ‘average’ difficulty level questions. The new pattern will carry eight two-mark questions. Earlier, the questions use to be of 1, 4 and 6 marks.
