Online Registration Fee For admissions to undergraduate courses of DU (2016-2017)

Registration fee for UR/OBC : Rs. 100 (Non-Refundable)

Registration fee for SC/ST/PwD : Rs. 50 (Non-Refundable)

Registration fee for Sports/ECA : Rs. 100 (Additional, Non-Refundable)

Online Registration Points for Delhi University Applicants :

  • Candidate can select any Delhi University colleges list in online form.
  • Registration fee has to be paid during online registration process through any one of the

    available online payment options.

  • Candidates can fill as many Course Choices as they want. There will be no extra fee.
  • It may be noted again that your application submission process shall be completed only after

    payment of the online registration fee.

  • Applicants are responsible for regularly checking the portal for any updates.
  • Applicant must keep the self attested scanned copies of the documents, as mentioned in bulletin of information, handy for filling up the application form.

How to apply online form for admission in Delhi University Colleges :

  • Visit the official site of DU.
  • Click on link “Apply For registration to UG Admission 2016-2017”.
  • If you are a new user click on “New User Sign Up”
  • Read the instruction/information bulletion
  • Fill Login and Applicants Details.
  • Click on Register button.
  • On Completion of this process a verification email will be sent to the candidates email ID with a confirmation link. Candidate have to click on the link and confirm the registration.
  • Now, candidate have to login again by enter their registered email ID and password.
  • Now, candidate have to upload the scanned images.
  • The size of scanned images are: Photograph (max. size 50KB and min. dimensions 140px (width) X 130px (height)), Signature (max. size 50KB and min. dimensions 140px (width) X 60px (height) ), ID Proof ( max. size 100KB), Class 10th Certificate (max. size 100KB) and Caste Certificate (if applicable) (max size 100KB).
  • After uploading images, you can click with “Submit My Profile”.
  • Please do not forget to take and keep the print out of the application form and documents/receipts for future secure purposes.

Admission for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) applicants :

As mentioned in the bulletin of Information for admission to the undergraduate courses based on merit, 2016-17, following two centers are established in the University of Delhi to assist only PwD applicants in filling the online registration forms. These Centers will remain open for the PwD applicants from 10:00 A.M. to 05:00 P.M. on Monday to Friday, till 19th June 2016.

Common Question about DU Admissions :

Q.1 Is DU remove the option of college selection in UG registration form 2016?

Ans. Delhi University (DU) has decided to remove the college selection criteria from its online and offline both admission forms, a DU official said Wednesday.reason for that -J.M. Khurana, dean of students’ welfare, Delhi university, said there were certain complaints in the past years where top scored student have suffered because they selected just two-three colleges and once cut-offs were out, they failed to get admissions.There are list of 77 colleges under the DU and this process of admission to DU undergraduate programme begins June 2.

Q.2 I have registered online on the DU website, do I still need to fill up the offline form?

Ans. No, if you’ve already submitted your pre- registration form online and made your payment

then there’s no need to fill the offline form.

Q.3 Can I enroll myself for a certificate language course along with my regular graduation

course?

Ans. Yes, many colleges offer part time certificate courses in office management, foreign

languages etc. However, it is advisable not to enroll yourself for any of these during the 1st year.

In first year try to understand how your regular course works and you can plan about your

certificate course accordingly.

Q.4 Will there be any disadvantage for gap year students?

Ans. No, all you need are the necessary documents.

Q.5 How does one apply through the ECA or Sports quota?

Ans. Each college has a separate form for ECA and sports that needs to be filled. For sports there

is a centralized fitness test (18th to 20th June, 2015 to be conducted by University Sports Council

and trials to be conducted by colleges. Similarly, colleges will conduct trials for ECA also.

Q.6 Will there be any relaxation offered to women candidates?

Ans. Relaxation for women candidates varies from college to college and even from course to

course. However, the upper limit has been fixed at 1%.

Q.7 After the declaration of the cut-off, are students given admission on the first come first serve

basis?

Ans. Admission in the colleges are not based on first come first serve policy.

Q.8 I have studied both commerce and accounts in my class XII. Which subject will I have to

choose for my best four?

Ans. You can choose both the subjects in your best four.

Q.9 I am a science student. Can I apply for bachelor with honours in Arts/Humanities subjects?

Ans. You can apply for Bachelor with honours in Arts/Humanities subjects provided you fulfill

specific eligibility condition and meet the requisite cut off.

Q.10 Once I have taken admission in a particular subject, can I change my subject during the

course of study or after completing first year?

Ans. No, once you’re admitted in a particular subject, you can change your subject only before

the last date of admission provided seats are available and you meet the requisite cut off.

Q.12 I appeared in class 12th exam last year but failed to clear mathematics. Then, I appeared in

the compartment exam and cleared it. Now, I have two marks sheets, can I get admission?

Ans. Yes, you can get admission in Delhi University and you will not be at any disadvantage.

Q.13 I did not have Mathematics in class 12th .Can I opt for Economics (H or B com (H?

Ans. No, you can’t opt for Economics (H or B Com (H without mathematics.

Q.14 Do a candidate required in-person on the day of admission?

Ans. Yes, candidate must be present on the day of admission in the college along with the

desired documents.

Q.15 Can I get fee concession? What is the procedure for fee concession?

Ans. Yes, there is a provision for fee concession in most of the colleges but only after admission.

Q.16 Can I take admission in two different/same courses in different colleges after declaration

of a cut off?

Ans. No, you cannot take admission simultaneously in two different courses or same courses in

different colleges. In case you take admission at two places, your admission will be cancelled

from both the colleges/courses.

Q.17 I was admitted under sports Quota last year but could not clear the first year. Can I apply

afresh and also change my course?

Ans. You can clear your first year as an ex-student, if your internal assessment is complete

(including attendance. In case you have not completed the above said condition, then you must

apply afresh.

Q.18 I have appeared in class XII exam from CBSE Delhi. Will I get an advantage of being from

Delhi?

Ans. No, there is no advantage for having studied in Delhi.

Q.19 I have completed my class XII from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling can I get

admission in regular college?

Ans. Yes, you can get admission in regular course provided you have applied in that course /

college and meet the cut off.

Q.20 I have just passed class XII from Jamshedpur with science subjects. Can I apply in Delhi

University through online form? I am also interested in applying St. Stephens and Jesus Mary

College?

Ans. Yes, you can apply for undergraduate courses through online form as per the schedule.

Please visit the University website. This form is applicable for all courses and colleges where the

admission is not based on entrance examination. However, for St. Stephens and Jesus and Mary

College, contact the colleges, respectively.

Q.21 Does it matter whether I apply online or offline?

Ans. No, the way you apply will not affect your chances of being admitted to University of

Delhi. We treat online and offline applications equally in the admission process.

Q.22 I belong to ST category and live in Manipur. How can I apply for undergraduate courses in

your University?

Ans. You can apply online from your place itself. If you are visiting Delhi during the registration

days, you can also use the option of filling offline form.

Q.23 Can I fill OMR form even if I have compartment in class XII?

Ans. Yes, you can fill OMR form even if you have compartment in class XII. You will get

admission only if you fulfill the minimum eligibility condition/meeting cut off list of that

course/college during stipulated period.

Q.24 Does it is important to have caste or tribe certificate in the name of candidate?

Ans. Yes, if you are applying under any reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/PH, then you must have

Caste/Tribe/PH certificate in the name of candidate. The OBC certificate must also specify that

candidates belong to non-creamy layer and caste is listed in the Central Government list.

Q. 25 Can you suggest the list of documents I have to submit along with the OMR form?

Ans. No documents are required to be submitted with OMR form.

Q.26 My result is yet to be declared, Can I still submit an OMR form?

Ans. Yes, you can submit the OMR form by darkening the appropriate circle of result awaited

under result section.

Q.27 Are there special seats for NCC cadets/NSS?

Ans. The University has no special quota for NCC/NSS in any of the colleges.
